Thompson going after Take2... again
Take2 is worrying about their board and CEO getting kicked out by their shareholders in order for them to sell the company afterwards, but it seems Jack Thompson couldn't care less about that.
Everyone's favorite lawyer has contacted Joystiq to let the world know that he's going to sue the company to prevent both GTA4 and Manhunt 2 to ever be sold to teenagers below 17.
Jack should know, however, that neither game has yet been rated and if they were to be rated M (for Mature), they're not allowed to sold to people under the age of 17 anyway. Does anyone see a reason for this lawsuit other than to promote Thompson's business cause I for sure can't...
Everyone's favorite lawyer has contacted Joystiq to let the world know that he's going to sue the company to prevent both GTA4 and Manhunt 2 to ever be sold to teenagers below 17.
Miami attorney and anti-violent video game activist, Jack Thompson, will file a lawsuit the week of March 19 to prevent the sale of two hyperviolent video games set to be released this year and sold to anyone under 17 years of age.
The two games are Manhunt 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV. Both are made by Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Both games will be rated "Mature." This ESRB rating is an admission, both in the legal sense and in the common sense of the word, that neither game can or should be sold to anyone under the age of 17 years because of the harmful, mature content.

Here is an additional quote from 1up's Head to Head article
EGM: You once compared Doug Lowenstein, president of the Entertainment Software Association, to Saddam Hussein.
JT: If I did, I want to apologize to Saddam Hussein. Doug is a propagandist to whom the facts don't matter.

Although if this does happen Jack would have to sue himself, now that would be cool.

Actually, thinking about this comment... I have to agree: not only is this person thriving on attention, the reporting of the - dare I repeat - asshat's antics isn't doing the world of gaming - both publishers and gamers - any good.
