Too Human dev ditches Unreal engine?*Update

Advanced Media Network is reporting that Silicon Knights, developers of Too Human, have decided to ditch Epic's Unreal 3 engine because it "isn't working too well on Xbox360"

Sources tell AMN Xbox 360 that Silicon Knights – the developer behind Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes – is ditching the Unreal Engine 3 for its upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive title, Too Human, in favor of coding its own engine, on account that the Unreal Engine does not work well with the Xbox 360 hardware.

Up to now, the only developer we at Fragland have ever heard saying anything negative about the Unreal 3 engine was Running with Scissors.

*Update*: As expected perhaps, this is bogus. Next Generation has the follow-up story:

"Silicon Knights continues to build Too Human using the Unreal Engine 3, tailoring it to fit the needs of the game and ensure the most efficient use of the technology. Rumors of Too Human experiencing production challenges that will cause massive delays are false. Too Human is progressing very well and we expect that gamers will be extremely excited with Too Human when we next show it."
So, the only thing they're doing is changing it a bit for their own needs, something nearly every dev is doing I guess since we presume not every developer working with UE3 is just making an average Gears of War or UT2007 clone.

Seems like the game might be dead, at least how we know it. How many times has it changed engines or platform? It's like Silicon Knights are trying to make the perfect game, and every time they fail in that impossible task, they have to blame it on a piece of hardware or engine, and wait for the next best thing so they can try again.

Either way, tihs is still unconfirmed news.

It's more likely that it's the Xbox 360's fault. They should ditch the platform not the engine!!
