Toshiba lost $1 billion on HD-DVD

Posted on Sunday, 16 March 2008 by Speed, source: DigitalJournal
The death of HD-DVD is certainly hurting Toshiba. Nikkei business daily is reporting that the company will be posting a loss from its Hi-def division this year of no less than 984 million dollars. Wow, that's impressive!

Toshiba was expecting to post an overall profit of $2.5 billion but it seems this will probably not be attained anymore.

If they only spent that money to greese enough palms like Sony did they would be celebrating instead. It's not about how good your product is, it's about how you "market" it in today's world.
