Toshiba to drop HD-DVD format?

Sources believe Toshiba will drop the format in the coming weeks.
Bad news for all those that have bought into HD-DVD as The Hollywood Reporter has word from inside sources that the company will not be supporting the format for much longer
Bad news for all those that have bought into HD-DVD as The Hollywood Reporter has word from inside sources that the company will not be supporting the format for much longer
"An announcement is coming soon," said one source close to the HD DVD camp. "It could be a matter of weeks."
Apparently, Toshiba is losing several hundred dollar with each HD-DVD player sold. Not something a company can keep supporting for very long, especially seeing that several key retailers have recently decided to ditch the format and focus on selling Blu-ray.In other news:
