TrackMania United drop StarForce

Those who hate the most persistent copy protection to date, namely StarForce, can relax because Nadeo has decided to drop the protection with the next update of TrackMania United.

TrackMania United received an update today that removes the Starforce software. The next time you start Trackmania: United the update will be downloaded and applied automatically.

Let's just hope that the developers did a good job in creating the uninstaller, because it is known that the protection can be somewhat difficult to get rid of:

The StarForce 3.0 driver, which is installed along with the protected product or when the protected product is first run, is mostly not uninstalled along with the software and cannot be uninstalled using conventional methods, i.e. a Start Menu shortcut or Add/Remove Programs applet in the Windows Control Panel.
