Typhoon Interview

Sim-Arena spoke with Rage Software on their upcoming Flight Sim Typhoon which is supposed to be the successor of EF2000[BLOCK]Don W. (Rage) : Typhoon is designed as a sequel, but it does offer a new angle on the flight sim genre. We have tried to capture the original atmosphere of the EF2000, so when the weather is bad the whole atmosphere of the simulation is very foreboding with gray skies and low cloud. We felt that it was important the players felt the connection with the pilots in the game and not just the technology of the aircraft. To get this across, we added pilot management; which means that the player has to take care of each individual pilot, ensuring that each one returns safely from every mission. In addition the player is responsible for moving the pilots from one air base to another. This is important because the enemy may be close to capturing a pilot's airbase or the player may wish to reinforce missions at the forward edge of battle.[/BLOCK]
