Ubi: Our DRM is great!
Earlier we reported that Ubisoft Entertainment had decided to implement their DRM that requires a permanent internet connection in Driver San Francisco and today comes word from the publisher that they're doing it because it's such a "huge success".
According to the company, the implementation of the DRM which can cause quite some problems for legitimate players has resulted in a huge decrease in piracy on PC:

Speaking to us earlier today a Ubisoft representative admitted that the developer has seen “a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success.”
Issues with disconnections and central servers can prevent gamers to actually play games with this DRM implemented. Therefore one can say that indeed PC piracy probably decreased, but what's the effect on actual sales?In other news:
