Ubisoft: DRM is vital to our business

Posted on Friday, 16 April 2010 by Speed, source: VG247
Splinter Cell: Conviction creative director Max Béland has said in an interview that Ubisoft Entertainment's new DRM scheme is vital for the company's PC games business:
“We consider that protecting our PC games is vital to our business,” said Béland, “and will allow us to continue investing in the development of creative and innovative games on the PC platform.”
Protection from piracy = vital to business. Makes sense.
Protection from piracy = unplayable game when not online. Does not make sense.

'Protection from piracy = unplayable game when not online. Does not make sense.'

Which means they're not ever getting my money and I'm sure others too, so long as they continue using this type of DRM.

Are you saying non of you own Steam games? Not one? And dont give me that offline mode crap cause it doesnt work for shit, and you actually have to be online to go to offline.

Ppl all up in arms when alot of popular outfits already use this type of deal.

You can carry on playing a singleplayer game on steam and still save your progress if the connection fails can't you? To my knowledge you can't with ubi's DRM.
