Ubisoft goes to Hollywood
The French Ubisoft has some unexpected plans for the future. Alongside their normal game development, they would like to start creating special effects for movies.
Ubi CEO Yves Guillemot clearly states they have no plans to actually start making films themselves, the focus really is on SFX.

"We don't want to make movies, but the expertise we have is key to creating special effects, graphics and animation."
Last year Ubisoft bought the Canadian Hybride Technologies, the studio handling the special effects in Sin City and 300. At the moment Ubisoft is already co-operating with 20th Century Fox on James Cameron's upcoming Sci-Fi flick Avatar and the game coming with it."We can enrich movies and they can enrich games"
