Ubisoft has released their numbers of last year and have every reason to be happy. It said that their sales rose with about 24,4% in comparison to the year before.

Of the total amount of games sold, the next-gen titles took the credit for about 60% which would make Ubisoft about 550 million bucks richer. Among the successes were (of course) the Tom Clancy games on X360 and Rayman Raving Rabbids combined with Red Steel on Wii.

"The sharp improvement in our operating profitability in fiscal 2006-07 reflects the diversity and strong performance of our games portfolio," CEO Yves Guillemot said in a statement. "Ubisoft has laid the foundation for starting 2007-2008 in excellent conditions and is well-positioned to continue to gain market share and further increase its profitability in a high-growth sector."

More money for Ubisoft means more money for new franchise investments! Hurray!

I guess EA should have taken advantage of that hostile takeover a year or so back.
