Use your PSP as a mobile phone

Posted on Saturday, 26 May 2007 by Anneleen, source: Fragland
In the UK the PSP will soon lead a double life, namely as mobile phone/ games handheld. Calling will happen over the Internet via VoIP and you will be able to call everybody you like.

According to BT, the software will eventually be distributed to telecoms companies in 100 other countries. The new PSP service takes advantage of BT's 21 Century Network (21CN), which is specifically designed to use Internet Protocol technology.

Sweet, yet another contract to pay presumably?? as I bet "21 Century" technology is gunna cost! :/

Just an idea but why not provide the service free of charge (maybe just a one off account registration or something to avoid abuse by telesales/scammers etc) and then create revenue through advertising, afterall ur going to have an lcd in your face whenever you make a call so why not use that their advantage? -millions of people would signup [its FREE!] providing that this open broadcast wi-fi trend took off of course!
