Valve owes you squat

Posted on Wednesday, 15 October 2003 by Speed, source: Fragland
The latest article to be published on the web concerning the whole Valve/Half-Life 2 sage comes from HalfLife.org who've written an editorial on the whole matter
And finally, to those of you who assert that ValvE is digging their grave by not responding as you feel appropriately to all this: 9 out of 10 of you will buy this game, conservatively speaking. If it weren’t so, you wouldn’t be spending as much time as you do trolling for Half-Life 2 tidbits. And I’ll bet at least half of you will be in your local Best Buy the day it finally comes out. Not to mention the world-wide publicity ValvE has garnished since the theft of their game code.

That doesn't change the fact their code was leaked, and other software companies were able to get loads of code and information out of it...

HL² allready publicity enough, I think if they could choose, they'd say less publicity, no source leak... (What else?)

jeah, the code was leaked.. but no other developer can (by the law) use it in any way..
and might it not be that it would be to much work for a game developer if their game gets on the shelves, valve discovers it's partially their code, and a week later that same game is off the shelves..
