Vice City on XBox ?
IGN is reporting that Rockstar's extremely popular game GTA: Vice City (which is still listed in most of the sales charts btw) will be ported to XBox despite that exclusivity deal with Sony which notes that the game can only be released on Playstation 2 (qua console that is)
Anyone think that Sony will be fooled by that ?
Back in May, Take Two's CEO Jeffrey Lapin spoke about a major Rockstar title in development for the Xbox during the company's quarterly conference call with analysts. "We said that there will be an Xbox SKU from Rockstar in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2004 [Nov. to Jan.]," Lapin said, "but we're not going to comment on what it is at this point." It now looks like Vice City is that game.
Vice City's gameplay will be identical to the PC version that recently shipped, and might also include additional features like custom soundtracks and downloadable content.
How do Rockstar think they'll be passing the exclusivity deal with Sony, you might ask. The answer is simple: the game will be branded as "Vice City", thus dropping the "Grand Theft Auto" tag.Vice City's gameplay will be identical to the PC version that recently shipped, and might also include additional features like custom soundtracks and downloadable content.

End of this year the deal with sony runs out for the Grand theft auto series.
