Vita memory cards will cost you a fortune
Sony Entertainment has announced the Japanese pricing of the memory cards for their upcoming PlayStation Vita and it doesn't look pretty.
There will be four sizes available and pricing is as follows:
Memory card 4GB ¥2,200 Memory card 8GB ¥3,200 Memory card 16GB ¥5,500 Memory card 32GB ¥9,500 So prices range from about €29 to about €124. That's a lot more than you pay for a harddisk 10 times as big in your PC!
To keep the price of the Vita down, the company has decided to cut back on on-board memory, meaning that you'll need these cards for storing games, savefiles and other stuff. Also, they're proprietary and while cheaper versions will be released by other brands, those are not guaranteed to work 100%. So if you wonder where Sony plans to make money: here you have it!
