It seems the success of Sony Entertainment's latest handheld is far to be found.
The latest sales figures in Japan show that the handheld console is selling less and less each week. The latest numbers reveal that the PlayStation Vita last week sold only 18.361 units, a drop of 57%. This while the week before already saw a 41% drop, which was proceeded by a 77% drop in its second week on sale.

Things could be looking better for Sony in Japan, as the Vita has only managed to take in a total of 500,000 units since launching four weeks ago. This number would appear to be far below expectations, and much less than the 3DS’s numbers in the same time period, but Sony has maintained that the portable is "selling to forecast."
