Vivendi: Infinity Ward is reconstructed

Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy said at Morgan Stanley TMT conference this week in Barcelona that Activision - Blizzard has succesfully "reconstructed" Infinity Ward.

"We have reconstructed Infinity Ward, [and] we are very happy with the way we have been able to reconstruct it,"

The executive went on to say that going forward, the Call of Duty series will have a three-studio strategy, with Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Sledgehammer Games each working on an offshoot of the franchise.

"We believe this set-up of studios...has demonstrated it can do very well, for sure,"

In case you're wondering what Vivendi has to do with Activision - Blizzard: they've got a controllable stake in the publisher after the merger some time ago.

So what does this mean? We've got Infinity Ward back on its feet and working on Modern Warfare 3 (revealed through some court documents), Treyarch who just released Black Ops, Sledgehammer who are rumoured to be working on some sort of sci-fi Call of Duty spin-off, and Raven Soft focusing on DLC.

so is the 3 CoD games per year from now on???? How much money are they going to try and get out of us??? Did'nt buy Black Ops won't buy any more CoD games .......ever.
What ever happend to support for a game? The original MoH AA lasted years with spearhead and breakout addons, spearhead being on of the best addons for any fps game. Seems to be today they have a game out with bugs then spend months fixing them and having crap DLC for even more money then drop everything a few months later because the next short, bug infested version is out.

Well, with 3 studios working on Call of Duty games and one on DLC, they can give more development time for each main game. So instead of Infinity Ward and Treyarch switching each year, with Sledgehammer they can add another year of development for each studio.
