Vivendi boss: "Where's the innovation?"

Posted on Tuesday, 27 June 2006 by Speed, source: MCVUK
In an interview with MCVUK, Vivendi CEO Bruce Hack stated he's worried as there's so little innovation in the videogames market these days.

“I’m particularly worried about a lack of creativity in the market. I looked around E3 and I saw too much of the same. I won’t allow us to do that. I’m trying to be a pain in the ass hassling our people for creativity.”

Well Bruce, you're one of the people that can make things happen. Do it!

Maybe with that income from WoW they can afford to take risks with some "innovating" games.

As long as the games that have innovation in them also have the classic action ingredients and not just being innovating and weird, im happy.

It's the publishers (ironically Vivendi is one of them) that determine which games will be made. They are the ones who write the checks to make new games and also the ones who have the final say on how creative a game will be.
