Vivendi denies Battlestar Galactica MMO
Vivendi Universal denies the earlier news that a new game of Battlestar Galactica is being made. The rumours around the game started when the store chain EBGames added the game to his online catalogue.
But probably, the game is being developed anyway. In a powerpoint presentation (page 29) from Vivendi is, as it happens, a short-session Battlestar Galactica game planned for 2007.
No MMO so it seems, but what then? According to the presentation the game would be available on Xbox360 and also on PC.
"EBGames has removed the information because it was not accurate. Vivendi Games has not announced a Battlestar Galactica game. We cannot comment any further as it is our policy to not comment on industry rumors."
But probably, the game is being developed anyway. In a powerpoint presentation (page 29) from Vivendi is, as it happens, a short-session Battlestar Galactica game planned for 2007.
In their presentation to investors from June 2006, they list Battlestar Galactica as a 2007 release for both the PC and Xbox Live Arcade. It's described as a "short-session" game which implies that it's not an MMO (World of Warcraft is referred to as "long-session" at one point in the report), but clear that some BSG game will see release.
