WARMONGER a free FPS gets dated

Posted on Wednesday, 19 September 2007 by L0k1-, source: Warmongergame.com
Occasionally you'll be surprised by some interesting developments in the games industry, sadly most of the time they're not so positive. This time it's different, because NetDevil, the company behind MMORPG's Jumpgate, Auto Assault and the to be released LEGO Universe just gave out a release date for their new free FPS WARMONGER Operation: Downtown Destruction.

On the magical date of October 16th, you'll be able to wipe out your enemies on 6 different maps with 5 weapons. A nice details that besides using the Unreal 3 Engine, they also use an advanced physics engine. In other words, almost everything can be blown to smithereens!

NetDevil, an independent game company and leading developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), today announced it is launching its revolutionary new title called Warmonger, Operation: Downtown Destruction, an apocalyptic, first-person shooter (FPS) powered by the AGEIA(TM) PhysX(TM) processor. Unlike other FPS titles, Warmonger features a unique, piece-by-piece destruction system and is designed to deliver stunning fluid and cloth-based effects unlike anything seen before. Warmonger will be available on October 16, 2007 to PC gamers via digital download and from leading edge hardware makers selling PhysX-based cards and gaming PCs. New assets, screens, and information may be found at: www.warmongergame.com.

Sounds good, but you'll probably need a phys x card for it to run good. I guess thats the reason they would release a free fps anyway, to promote the card.

Well I played cell factor and I thought it was an interesting game, but it still didnt run all too well without the phys X card.

Looks cool and it's running the UE3 engine so I'll give it a try. The cards have come down in price and it improved my game play in GRAW2 so I'm anxious to try another title
