It seems like the flow of bad news coming from Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning just doesn't stop. After months of bad news, diminishing subscribers and the announcement of shutting down servers it has now come to the point of really shutting them down. Each character 'left behind' gets one free transfer for whenever the owner decides to wake up and move it.

In the past few months, Mythic Entertainment allowed free transfers from these source servers towards viable ones. Those came to an end yesterday with the final round of transfers. Whoever didn't do it yet is automatically transferred to the destination servers listed on this page for the US and here for Europe.

As most of those who play or played Warhammer Online know, a healthy population for this type of MMO is critical to a server. There is not much fun in organising an epic battle between 7 players.

So let's hope that this rather drastic move keeps the current players happy and generates some positive buzz to get some new subscribers sing up or some old ones return.
