What's keeping the Call of Duty 2 patch?

I admit, I don't have a definite answer to that question. However, we have come to the conclusion that a lot of the thousands of faithful players are fed up with waiting for the new Call of Duty 2 patch.

Therefor the following unofficial announcement might further aggrevate those among you that are desperatly awaiting the upcoming and way overdue patch:

We have been told unofficially this evening through a undivulged source that in fact IW are having problems with Punkbuster and can't get it working with the DX architecture. So, the promises of early 2006 have now some what been shattered and it is very doubtful we shall get an official statement from IW regarding what is happening now.

It seems Infinity Ward is experiencing serious difficulties with making the Punkbuster software work together with the DX architexture. If Infinity Ward continues to not inform the players about the development of the new update, players are bound to take actions.

We are now at a crossroads with CoD2. We can either:

1. Sit and wait in frustration until IW release the patch, whenever that may be and continue to pay our server fees with no control over players that are connected to our servers we are paying for.

OR

2. Give them a date to respond to their loyal community, in an Official capacity and update us on the situation within the reasonable timeframe of 1 week from today.

FAILING THAT

3. Stand together, and if IW fail to announce anything officially, or give us what we think is sufficient communication, we will give them until the 15th March 2006 in which to respond. That is the date of the Red Orchestra release, and when it will be available to buy in the shops.

If we haven't received a reasonable explanation (and we're not talking a standard press release) by this date, we shall say our goodbyes to our friends at IWN the Official Home of Infinity Ward and remove all traces of CoD2 from our servers and install Red Orchestra with FULL ONLINE SUPPORT.

As you could see in the upper quote, the CoD2 players are threatening to stop playing and opt for Red Orchestra. If you want more info concerning all the action you should click this link.

Awesome....WTF aren't they coming out with the patch?? Or at least letting the community know that they are having difficulties...Instead, the community has to hear news from unoffical webstites like this to know what's going on.
This is sickening

The least they could do is release a game patch to fix the multiplayer game play issues and thow in some new maps and release a punkbuster patch when it is ready. I'm getting tired of COD2 and IW's lack or response to the players and I'm about to switch to DOD:S or Red Orchestra just to get some new game play.
