Wii 2 tech specs leaked?
It seems those rumours about the Wii 2 getting an unveiling at E3 are getting more substance by the day.
French gaming site 01Net (who previously unveiled the NGP specs way before any official announcement was sent out) claims that they've gotten their hand on tech specs for Project Cafe, the supposed codename for the Wii successor.
Apparently the Wii 2 will have an architecture that's similar to that of the Xbox360, but a bit more powerful, and will indeed be shown for the very first time at E3 this year.
A summary of what they've got:
The controller will have a built-in high-resolution screen that's six inches big and will be a bit like an Ipad but with buttons Controller will also have a front-facing camera, D-Pad, two bumpers, two triggers and "possibly" more The controller alledgedly can be used as a Wii sensor bar The console will have a custom IBM PowerPC CPU with three cores The GPU will be AMD/ATI R700 family with a shader unit at version 4.1 There will be at least 512MB RAM Project Cafe will be backwards compatible with the Wii (including peripherals) and Gamecube games
