Wii and PS3 in trouble

the saturation of the Wii sales comes at a bad time now that the company saw its profits drop.
These announcements come just a few weeks after industry monitoring group NPD mentioned that the Video Game Index was dropping too fast. This was the fourth month in a row the index was dropping totalling nineteen months of recession.
The WP summarizes it as follows:
Video games and game consoles are the very example of discretionary spending: They're expensive, they're a luxury, they should be among the first things to go in a recession.
Yet they had not been, at least up until a few months ago. Gamers were still willing to put money into their hobby, by buying new games. What's happening now is potential gamers are holding off buying the expensive consoles and current gamers are refusing to upgrade. Both are signs of a truly bad economy.
I think that is spot on. I've stopped buying every title that I want when it comes out. If you wait a standard amount of time, several Euros get knocked off the price.Yet they had not been, at least up until a few months ago. For now, the Xbox 360 seems to be holding its own and I can guess why. All in all, the PS3 is quite pricey and the X360 offers services that are on par or better for a lower price. For the Wii it was going to happen one day... everybody already owns one :)

If you look at the available titles, the 360 has way more titles and usually the X360 version of a title performs a bit better (because it was designed for 360, then ported). It comes down to which exclusives you want.
For the DLC lovers, the X360 is the way to go. They usually come first on the 360 if they come to the PS3 at all.
Exlusive titles tend to be prettier on the PS3, I'll give them that.
Sony has a great arsenal of possible exclusives like gran turismo, daxter etc but at the moment there are only 2 titles i'd want. Killzone 2 (allthough i was underwhelmed after all the hype) and fat princess.
Don't call me an ms fanboy because i'm not. I've owned every goddamned sony console except the PS3, but sony fucked me over too hard with my PSP. Hell I even went to japan to buy one and then they went all cold on it and canned some great titles (which are now surfacing again for the psp go).
If i'm a fanboy of anything, it's SEGA consoles. I'd marry my DreamCast ,make pretty babies with it and then make my Game Gear its uncle.
