It's time! The Wii has (nearly) been released in Europe, and we over at Fragland managed to get one early from our local game store. In case you're wondering how my first moments with the beauty went, then check the images posted below.

My first experiences with the console are mostly positive. No need to be a cable expert, and the installation is quick and painless. Once booted, the guide asks you for a console name and whether you're using a 'normal' or a wide screen television.

A couple of downsides: reading a disc makes quite a bit of noise and the sensor bar looks fragile. To access the Connect24 service, two new firmware updates are required, and there's very little you can configure about the service. Time will tell, I guess...
