Wii not region-free after all

Gamesindustry.biz has received word from Nintendo UK that the Wii will not be region-free after all.

They state that Nintendo of America made a big mistake by saying that it was

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz in London this afternoon, a spokesperson admitted, "We are region-locked," and said the US arm of the company had made a mistake in saying otherwise.

Oh well, no import games then... Hope Europeans and Americans won't have to wait endlessly for games that have already been released in Japan then (something that did happen with the Gamecube quite some times)
