Wii remote control contains 'voice translator'

In an article on CNN a special piece of hardware in the Wii-remote was reported. The part is a so-called audio translator which allows to convert speech to digital data.

Although this has a lot in common with a microphone, this part is only rudimentary, there is no way yet to lead sound to the chip. According to specialists the chip costs about $2, which could be a Nintendo investment of millions.
