Wii to be the third dog?
Yahoo is stating that while Sony and Microsoft are targeting hardcore gamers with more horsepower and better graphics, Nintendo may very well become the third dog that goes running off with the bone because its Wii also appeals to a huge market of people that usually wouldn't even consider buying a console
In order to succeed, I would recommend that the executives at Sony take a page out of the Innovator's Solution and consider creating a new and separate division within the company. That might be what it takes to develop new products for the largely untapped market the Wii has opened.
Sony still has time to do so, but it must act quickly. Otherwise, it could be missing out on a huge opportunity. And as Wii continues to be upgraded and improved over time with better graphics and new capabilities, it could also begin to woo hardcore gamers. That won't be just a dilemma -- it could be a very big problem for Sony, which is still losing money on the sale of every PS3.

MS was the first to bring online console gameing to the masses properly and with an abundance of amazing features like chat / friends list / downloadable demos trailers films and tv shows and the live arcade, Sony just copied all that very badly.
Nintendo is the first to be a bit daring and try something new for a long time and go for a slightly different market with its Wii and Wiimote, again Sony just copied that idea badly with its dodgy turny pad thingy.
