Quite out of the blue there was an update this morning on Nindendo's Wii site containing information on a new controller, pictured on the right.

This new controller, dubbed the Classic Controller PRO appears to be an evolution of the old classic controller with added grips and shoulder triggers. It seems that it still needs to be attached to a regular controller with a cable.

If anyone has the urge to translate the Japanese next to the 2009 date, feel free to do so. A quick search on the interwebs teaches us that it states "summer 2009".

Nothing further is known but my guess is that it won't be long before we see an announcement in English.
