Will Mark Wahlberg become Max Payne?

According to Variety, Mark Wahlberg might be playing the role of Max Payne in the movie that will be be made about the game by Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games. The publication also mentionned that the director would be John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix) and the script is written by Beau Thorne.

The storyline will follow that of the first game, where Payne is tormented by the memory of his family's murder by a drug syndicate.

More information remains unknown for now.

Hmmm... not sure if that director's gonna bring this movie the sort of atmosphere it deserves... Max Payne never was about just the action, the story played a much bigger part in it than in other games... Mark Wahlberg on the other hand may be a good lead actor...
