Women in G-Strings
GameGirlz have posted an article called Women in G-Strings where some female gamer called Gemstone rambles on that the skins in shooters look like bimbo's and that the games industry should pay attention to the females that play their games...[BLOCK]When I go out to do battle with the enemy, I strap on my nipple protectors, shimmy into my hot, pink g-string, sling my gun over my shoulder and I’m ready for anything. But wait…let’s not forget the matching stiletto heels! At least I’ll look sexy when I die, all sprawled out. Get your attention? I’m sure it does grab the attention of many and this is the ploy. Well, so what’s the big deal? The big deal is that I am a woman, and my purpose in playing the game is not to distract, jiggle or look hot. My purpose is to play the game! I am bothered by the fact that decent models and skins are so limited for women. I don’t understand why developers of games continually use standard female models that look like bimbos. Are they telling us that the only power a woman has is to distract the other players by looking sexy?[/BLOCK]Now don't get me wrong here, but what's wrong in this picture ?
Does she really think the gaming industry will create Males in G-Strings looking like nude Ken-dolls ?
Why in earth would the games industry create (semi) nude male models, when 90% of gamers that play shooters are males that want to have absolutely nothing to do with nude males ?
Let's look at this from an objective point :
- At leat 90% of gamers that play shooters are male
- Those male gamers are mostly in their teenager years where their hormones are coming on
- Those male gamers are mostly heterosexual and want to have nothing to do with anything that sounds by far like "Gay" and surely do NOT want to see naked men jumping around on their screen
So to be in short : Wake up to the real world. No-one is going to create games that appeal to a vast minority of girls that play shooters and gay males...
