In a conference call about the first half of fiscal year 08-09 for Ubisoft, an interesting bit of information surfaced.

When asked about a successor to Assassin's Creed, a Ubisoft executive took the opportunity to shed some light on the game. Eventhough he would not confirm (nor deny) a sequel to Assassin's Creed would be released in 2010, he did admit they are "working hard" on Assassin's Creed 2.

Obviously this doesn't leave us with much to know about Assassin's Creed 2. We already knew Altair might've taken some swimming lessons in his time off, through an interview with an animation director a few months ago, but that's pretty much it. I for one am looking forward to hearing about this game. Despite the repetition that crept into Assassin's Creed as it went along, the eye for detail was pretty admirable. Now all we have to do is hope they manage to fix the sharp edges of Assassin's Creed in this successor.
