Wow accounts get cancelled and banned

Posted on Wednesday, 27 April 2005 by Speed, source: Kotaku
The official European World of Warcraft site has word that over 500 accounts have been banned in Europe due to cheating.

As part of our continuing effort to keep World of Warcraft free from abuse, we have permanently banned more than 500 accounts during the last week which were involved in the use of cheats and/or hacks using third-party software

Meanwhile, Kotaku is reporting that hundreds of WoW-players have cancelled their accounts due to not agreeing with the new honor system that has been implemented

Nothing wrong with cancelling because of being terribly disappointed by a new “cool” feature.
I did not make this decision easily but this whole “honor” is ill conceived and I am convinced that it cannot work. I do not want to be part of the long and painful experimentation in which other people find out this for themselves.

The 35-page rant where over 700 posts have been made with people cancelling their accounts can be found here

they're really just hammering on this honor thing.

i'm playing on bloodscalp as alliance, we're outnumbered by horde and i got ganked quite alot before the honor system, usually i tried to run or whatever.

now all the gankers just go to ss or stv and gank there.

i kill an average of 20 people a day, and that's about all the horde i see all day cause it's definitely turned into kos.

only real problem you could be experiencing is if you're still lowish lvl and have to grind quests in ss and stv

oh yes they do. I never got a single suspension and have been forever banned for a "speed hack" even though I have done no hacking whatsoever but simply found myself caught up in a wyvern bug.

I remember back when Asheron's Call first came out I used to sell motes on Ebay but their EULA agreement neglected to say anything about the virtual property on the server. WoW deliberately added a section in their EULA, because they smartened up stating something to the effect that the property on the server belongs the them. What it comes down to is that noone but Blizzard should make a profit on their software. If I agree with this then what exactly are we paying for? To that effect we don't play with our characters, we are just renting them. It's all very confusing. The rights to virtual property seem vague. Anyone else have more information on the actual rights?

hacking is fun isnt it,

it warms your heart while your using them ,
ur full of happyness and joy,
you even say to yourself this is mad! and just look at every other fagot WoW players that have done it the hard way, omg im sooo coool.

then two-three days later you are caught,
account is most likely disabled,
now you feel like a dickhead and find yourself posting shit on forums..

its a suprise attack :)

AO has the same thing in their EULA, however if you sell stuff on ebay simply state you're selling you're time (time to find item, materials to make an item, etc.) and that it is ultimately propery of the game maker. easy was to get around it.
