X360 has 50% failure rate
According to a survey amongst 5000 users, done by GameInformer Magazine, Microsoft's Xbox 360 has a failure rate of 54.2%.
To make things worse, 41.2% of all those with failed hardware had a second unit break down on them. If you extrapolate these percentages to the total installbase, this would mean 12.36 million people have seen their Xbox360 fail at least twice.
Compared to the PS3 and the Wii, the numbers are even more staggering. The PS3 apparently has a failure rate of 10.6% while the Wii does even better with only 6.8% breaking down.
To put things a bit more into perspective, though, 41.4 percent of Wii owners stated they played less than an hour a day on average while 40.3% of all X360 gamers play 3-5 hours per day.
