X360 sales rise 40% in UK after price drop

Microsoft cutting the price of their console is doing wonders for the sales figures in the UK.

That's the conclusion we can give after this weekend saw sales of the Xbox360 jump up with no less than 40%

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Chart-Track director Dorian Bloch revealed: "Xbox 360 is up 35-40 percent - that's from Friday, when the price cut came into effect, up to midnight Saturday.

Software sales didn't go so great though. Nintendo is still topping those charts with Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for Wii and DS returning to the top spot for a seventh week since its release in late 2007
