XIII news and a Q&A
It's weekend again and E3 is coming up, so developers and publishers are holding on to their newsbits. Or are they all preparing to welcome t20, Cobralord and myself ?

Anyway, over at Gamehelper I came across a preview and Q&A on XIII, one of the games I know a lot of us are looking forward to. Unfortunately one sentence disturbed me... disturbed me quite a lot actually:

Anyway, over at Gamehelper I came across a preview and Q&A on XIII, one of the games I know a lot of us are looking forward to. Unfortunately one sentence disturbed me... disturbed me quite a lot actually:
GH: Well the game has a definite comic book feel. Is the look very close to that of the novel?
Damien: Actually no. The novel is much darker but we wanted to create a look closer to that of the American comic books. Similar to the batman comics but with more color.
Why does this disturb me ? There are two reasons why XIII is so popular... the superb storyline by Jean Van Hamme AND the gifted drawings by William Vance. We've had the chance to see some cutscenes, screenshots and a trailermovie of the game on a Ubisoft event, and to me it seemed that the game stuck quite close to the original drawings. So I guess that I really really hope that they haven't turned it into an American low-quality style comic game (with all due respect to the American comic-culture - but it is different from the European style).
