XLGames takes license on CryENGINE 2
Posted on Tuesday, 21 August 2007 by L0k1-, source: next-gen.biz
XLGames has just announced that they have bought a license from Crytek to use the CryENGINE 2 for their new MMORPG. This engine is currently being used for Crysis on PC. The company XLGames was created by Jake Song, former Vice President of NCSoft and creator of Lineage the game that at this time still has the record of most paying subscribers ever.
After the people behind Project Entropia, XLGames is the second company that is using the engine for an MMORPG. It seems the days are gone when MMORPGs had bad graphics, with games like Age of Conan and Aion already coming out next year.
