"Xbox 360 also gets 3D at E3"
Eurogamer is reporting that Microsoft possibly will announce at E3 that their Xbox 360 will have full stereoscopic 3D.
This feature would supposedly work in the exact same way as that of the PS3, with HDMI 1.4 support through 1280x1470 double 720p frame buffers.
A source working on the Xbox360 hardware at Microsoft didn't deny this, on the contrary. He suggested even an announcement at E3. With that, the X360 would take away a "unique" feature from its main competitor, the PS3. This is what the man himself had to say:
The PS3 is compatible with 3D images since June last year, after it got a firmware update. Something that got quite a lot of attention with amongst others Killzone 3 and the new racing games.
Some Xbox360 games can already be played in 3D - like Crysis 2 and Black Ops - but do this with 1 instead of two 720p buffers for now.
And what did Microsoft have to say about all this? The usual: they don't comment on rumour or speculation.

They'd be mad not to do it, is all I can say. The machine is not only very capable, it's more capable than the PlayStation 3 of doing stereo, assuming you don't have one of the old crappy ones with the composite leads... assuming you have a HDMI Xbox.
The bottleneck is more on the graphical throughput for rendering out in stereo.
E3 is coming up. Microsoft is going to have to go on stage to say something, aren't they?
According to the Microsoft employee the 360 would even be in better shape to do 3D than the PS3, as long as you don't connect it through composite. The bottleneck is more on the graphical throughput for rendering out in stereo.
