Major Nelson, one of the key figures behind Xbox Live, had the honors of announcing this news. The Xbox Live Vision Camera (XLVC) will be released simultaneously in Europe and the US on September 19th this year.

The XLVC will work like Sony's Eye Toy. There will be the possibility to play games like Uno and Texas Hold'm Up Poker using the camera but this won't be the only thing you can do. You'll also be able to create your own gamertag, send video messages and even chat using the camera.

Another little thing Nelson told, was that the next X360-dashboard update would already contain the software you need to use the XLVC. This means it'll be Plug-and-Play once you bought the camera. From now on it's just waiting for a price announcement.
