Xbox Live growing strong

Slowly yet steadily a growing number of the mass population joins our ranks... the ranks of The Gamer Elite. The numbers of people getting hooked on gaming is not yet exceeding the amounts of people getting hooked up to dope each day, but still - people are 'getting in the game' at a good rate.

The people behind the evil green box -also known as the Xbox- have released a couple of facts which we thought interesting enough to share, starting with the most important one for the online gamers:
  • Xbox Live now boasts over 1.4 million (1 400 000) accounts worldwide.
  • Halo 2 has sold over 6.4 million (6 200 000 !) copies worldwide and has been played for over an unbelievable 91 million (91 000 000 !!!) hours !
  • Xbox' marketshare has been growing the strongest compared to all other competitors for 14 months straight
  • more than 200 titles are Xbox Live enabled...

All in all, a couple of cool facts. It is especially reassuring to know that you will always find an Xbox Live server with players on it, regardless of what time you want to play :-)

Yea, I used to play on xbconnect but the hassle of going to the computer every 5 minutes was annoying. Xbox live makes it so I never have to leave my couch!

If your comparing live to xb connect I would say theres a big difference. I used to make the same argument as you, but until you use both for a long period of time you dont see that there is actually quite a big difference. Many of the the user hosted games on xb connect are far from lag free. And on xb connect you have to deal with idiots who kick you after you beat them.

Unless you have a soft mod xbox there is really no reason not to use live.
