Xbox360 as a babysitter
Posted on Thursday, 21 July 2005 by Mario, source: Mainichi Daily News
The endless discussions about the influence of violence in videogames on children will be put on hold, thanks to the Xbox 360.
Parents will have to enter the age of their children playing on the console in advance, making it impossible for the little guys to play games that aren't actually meant for them.
This news comes from Japan but it's said that Europe and the United States Xbox 360's will also be equiped with a similar device. This might be the first step in decreasing the number of lawsuits against developers of violent games such as Rockstar.
However, something tells me that those same kids will be able to find a diversion around the whole thing. It's also a question of ability: will your parents be able to turn on the Xbox 360 and follow all the instructions without your help? I think not, so to all kids playing games for grownups: you probably have nothing to worry about. :)
