Xbox360: best launch ever in the UK
Undeniably, Microsoft's Xbox 360 launch didn't pass flawlessly. Some whispers about crashes and unsatisfied customers might have reached you already. Still the launch of the new console should be considered a success in both the US and Europe.
In the UK for instance, the launch is thought to be one of the most successful so far. In the first weekend around 70.000 units were sold. This beats the previous record, held by Nintendo's Gamecube. An encouraging start for Microsoft, but with sufficient stocks they would probably have sold even more.
The X360 software is doing fine aswell, with ten of fifteen launch titles appearing in the 'all format' Top 40. Especially Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3 seem to have sparked the interest of a lot of customers.
The next step for Microsoft is undoubtetly Japan and after that comes resupplying stores worldwide with more consoles. I know plenty of people itching to get there hands on one!

The £279 Premium version, which launched on December 2nd, has proved most successful, outperforming the £209 Core version by 2:1, while ten out of the 15 launch titles debuted in the All Formats top 40.
