And yes. The first reports on broken Xbox 360 launch consoles are appearing all over the gaming boards. Defects include overheating, broken harddrive, unability to read discs and wireless controllers that can’t be synchronized with the console.

Some unfortunate people even have a system that refuses to boot. Are these occasional events or does it show that Microsoft rushed things a bit? Meanwhile the people that got a working console are completely blown away by the system’s performance. The next-gen era has officially started…

I'm almost glad I didnt go out and buy one first day because of defects like these. Hopefully they will have the bugs worked out by Feb.

Typical Microsoft? I hope you realize both Sony and Nintendo have these problems as well with many of their consoles/handhelds.

Envy: hah! i knew there would be problems!! yes, i mean its bad, but good at the same time. i mean its good for us since we work for sony, but bad 'cause it shows how much in a rush they were to release the system without testing it themselves to make sure of any possible launch problems. of corse that dosent really affect us but it is bad for them.heh, this will definatly leave a mark on 'em for a while.

erm get your facts right ninjafishy......neither nintendo or sony have yet released a console that has a hard drive or wireless controllers as standard. so how could they have the same problems as ms?!?! and aren't the overheating problems to do with the enormous 360 power pack? again something neither sony or nintendo have ever had with their consoles.
