Battlefront 3 affected by demise of Free Radical

It seems that the demise of Free Radical results in certain tech no longer to be used in Star Wars: Battlefront 3.

In effect, it's the flying technology that was seen in the latest leaked footage from the game that will die along with the original developer:

"It's genuine. However, it's my understanding that the game's been passed to a new developer, but the tech that allowed you to fly from the ground, to air, to orbit, to space dies with Free Radical's involvement. The new developer will be making it a cutscene every time you want to transition from ground to space."

Meanwhile, rumours are flying around like crazy about who will take over development of Star Wars: Battlefront 3. According to Spong, Rebellion, who made Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for the PSP, will be taking over but this is countered by a "reliable source" from VG247 who stated the game is going back to Pandemic LA who made the original Battlefront.

A very reliable “insider source” has told videogaming247 that Star Wars Battlefront 3 is heading back to Pandemic’s studios in Los Angeles, California

Guess we'll hear soon enough.

i really hate pandemic. They spend little ammounts of money,and produce mediocre games. Now the ground to space was fucking awsome. WAY TO GO and take it out. Hopefully Rebellion takes this over. If pandemic does, they better do a good job.

i agree it would b awesome to jump in a ship take down an enemy cruiser then bombard the planet then drop back down to the planet and have a shoot em' up! but then people would be thinly spreed and finding the last guy that's capturing the cp"s would be a bother to find!

Pandemic will do a piss poor job. Look at all the problems with BF2, glitches, spawn bugs, LAG. the dedicated server program for 1.0 is a total joke also.

Pandemic, at least try to make a good job of this one, unlike all other games you have created/messed-up
