If you want to play Dungeons & Dragons Online for free, you may want to move to the US.
Yesterday we reported that Dungeons & Dragons Online would become free to play and would be funded by microtransactions. Well, it will be but not in Europe.
Codemasters stated that over here, the game will remain subscription based and the Eberron Unlimited update that adds the free to play part is "limited" to the US.

"To clarify, for the time being, DDO Europe will not be assuming this new business model and the European DDO game service will remain a monthly subscription-based game with all new content created available to all subscribers, as has been the model up until now,"

The reason the probably have to do this in the US is because there are so few subscribers, less players = less people who want to keep playing. Its all a downward spiral from there.
Ironically Europe probably has more active subscribers and as a result this program will stay in the US.
