China is catching up with the rest of the world quite quickly, and this also applies to seeing videogames as the cause for everything that's wrong in the world.

China's state news channel, China Central Television, has been airing programs that openly blame videogames for things like murder, drug abuse and even teen pregnancy.
The TV show also covered such things as a guy who started killing people (five in total) to obtain in-game goods and teenagers who get addicted to drugs like methamphetamine in order to stay awake during all-night gaming marathons.

Yes, it sure looks like China is catching up and just like all those other governments they're not looking at the root cause of issues but rather fight symptoms. Politicians are stupid everywhere.
