Forget about that safe cloak of anonimity in MMOs. Two weeks ago an American sheriff, Mr. Roberson managed to track down a gangster all the way into World of Warcraft.

The man, a drug dealer known as Mr. Hightower had fled to Canada after an arrest warrant was sent out. There he spent his time playing WoW.

When the sheriff heard this, the strong hand of the law contacted Blizzard and kindly requested to get the personal info of Hightower. To his surprise, Blizzard didn't have any problem with that and sent the IP address as well as the account and billing information. Thanks to Google Maps our dear sheriff managed to track down and lock up the gangster.

So now you know. The law is everywhere!
