Many gamers looked forward to Oblivion. Sad to say the PC version had big system requirements.
But now there has been releaesed a tool, oldblivion, which makes the game playable with an old video card withouth Directx 9 support.
The game won't crash and the pixel and vertex shaders will be converted from 2.0 to 1.1.

Supported cards
If you have a card which works well with Oldblivion but is not listed here, please let us know.
- Geforce 3 series
- Geforce 4 series
- Geforce FX 5200 series
- Geforce PCX 5300
- Geforce FX 5500
- Geforce FX 5700 series
- Radeon 9550
- Radeon 9200 series
- Radeon 9000 series
- Radeon 8500 series
Cards with some issues but working
- SiS 760
- Geforce FX 5100 GO
Poorly supported cards
- Intel GMA 900 (frequent crashes reported, consider 3danalyze instead)
Unsupported cards
- S3 series integrated cards
- Most Intel series integrated cards
- Geforce 4 MX
- Geforce 2

The tool can be donwloaded here.
Mind you, don't expect miracles, it's just a way to let the game work, nothing more !

Im using a RADEON 8500 SERIES, i've downloaded and extracted and used OLDBLIVION but still, the Bloom settings are toggled on, so im seeing a white screen, and can't change it as it results in, 'Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close'

Help please :]
Thanks

it works pretty well on my Intel GMA 945/950, just the occasional driver crash, due to intel's uncaring for quality drivers. thankfully it recovers, and the game itself continues to run, the screen just goes black for a few seconds and comes back. one other annoyance is it lags slightly when the lighting in a room changes. other then that it works quite well.
