GTA IV: the first sales figures

On April 29, the game already sold 609.000 copies in the United Kingdom alone. With this it broke the record of most sold copies on one day. The previous holder of that record was GTA: San Andreas with 501.000 copies.
As predicted GTA IV has eclipsed the previous record set by GTA: San Andreas in 2004 (501k units). On launch day, Tuesday April 29, GTA IV sold 609k units in the UK, lead by the X360 version with 335K copies and the PS3 edition with 274K units.
I wonder if the movie industry will blame the games again if they have a bad weekend? :)In other news:
