Red Alert 3 beta open to everyone now

Fileplanet has finally opened up the Red Alert 3 multiplayer beta test to all their users, not only the subscribers (or those with a key from the C&C3: Kane's Wrath addon).

The keys are handed out on a first come first served but at the time of writing there were still spots available. So if you like to try out the Soviets, Allies and the all-new Japanese Empire side in ruthless multiplayer matches before the release of the game, this is your chance.

Be mindful of the beta recommended specifications though, the beta download itself is 754 MB in size:

573319431_t2
Operating System - Windows XP or Windows Vista (32-bit)
CPU - Multiple cores or Hyper-threading
Graphics Card – NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or higher, ATI Radeon X1800 or higher
RAM – 1 GB
Sound Card – DirectX 9.0c compatible

Red Alert 3 will be available on PC and Xbox360 on October 31st. A PS3 port might follow later depending on the demand and EA's will to port it

The beta is more of an alpha. sometimes the keyboard wont work NAT negotiations take forever (what port does this game use anyone know?) 5 less factions then RA2, graphics subpar by today's standards. VOIP is alway voice activated the menu overlap, some buttons aren't labeled. no refresh button for the lobby, alt tab = crash, loading a map = crash, etc...

They really need to get to work on this if they want it out by October but its EA if there is a corner they will cut it. In the end it will be buggy and nothing innovative so i hope they dont want more then 10 dollars for it.
