Battle.net 2.0 features surface

Battle.net,

Blizzard Entertainment's free online community and matchmaking portal for everything that is 'craft' and Diablo, is getting its version updated to 2.0. This update is coming with all the modern features other online services made popular over the last few years.
All these features will be ready in time for the releases of their next generation of blockbusters Starcraft II and Diablo III.
Some of the most interesting features are:
  • Achievements
  • Clan support
  • In-game chat and voice chat
  • Enhanced cheat detection and punishment
  • Avatars
  • eSports support and automated tournaments
Many of these changes clearly come from

the World of Warcraft universe but I guess that's not a bad thing.
Personally I'm really hoping the eSports feature will take StarCraft II to the next level of online competition so I can finally become an icon like those Korean Starcraft players that are worshipped by thousands and thousands of screaming girls.

Not sure if its a regional thing or what but its "Diablo". I'm not a spelling nazi, but it seemed you were intentionally typing it this way and just wanted to clarify.

As for the new additions to Bnet, I would almost expect this type of support for games of this nature being released today. The only question is how well they will be implemented, and since this is blizzard its usually safe to assume they will do a good job.
